  1. Seems a little unbalanced. 25 Winter athletes chosen. 12 females, 13 males. Not one winter athlete from Park View. County 2 girls, 2 boys, Woodgrove 2 girls, 1 boy, Stone Bridge 2 girls, Freedom 1 girl, 1 boy, Potomac Falls 1 girl, 2 boys, Briar Woods 1 girl, 2 boys, Loudoun Valley 2 boys, 1 Dominion 1 girl, 1 boy, Heritage 1 girl, 1 boy, Tuscarora 1 girl, Broad Run 1 boy.

  2. I have to disagree (of course I pick 'em!) ... Here is my take: 12 and 13 looks like true balance on gender ... as for schools, we were able to represent 11 of 12 high schools for the month, NOT easy to do each month ... Some schools such as County, for example, will have a big representation when they took home the regular-season co-title in girls hoops, the district title in wrestling and gymnastics ... As for Park View, with only 4 athletes per sport (with 5 for wrestling) the Pats didn't have anybody in gymnastics, swim, wrestling, girls hoops that made the cut ... for boys hoops honored Ryan McCarter in the last month and since it was a double photo shoot with both groups shot at the same time, we didn't repeat picks from December to January ...

    1. Keep up the good work Dan ! You do not owe anyone an explanation for the accomplishments of the student athletes.

  4. Operator error ... the photo I was trying to use from last year became corrupted (as it has gone bad on last year's shoot as well!) and won't show and the system put up Jon's photo from last month ... I would fire the editor ... if it wasn't me! I found another cool Gary Sousa shot of Brad and put it up and will correct the other spread as well ... thanks for the double check!
